Description:

This grammar game helps ESL learners practice differentiating between adjectives and adverbs in use. Play this game now to practice.

Adjectives: An adjective is a word or set of words that modifies (i.e., describes) a noun or pronoun. Adjectives may either come before the words they modify or after it as in the following examples.
This cat is beautiful. / This is a beautiful

Adverbs: An adverb, on the other hand, is a word or phrase that modifies verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. Adverbs usually answer how, when, where, why, or to what extent—how often or how much (e.g., slowly, beautifully, today, outside, in a day).
Examples:
She walks slowly. (This adverb tells you how she walks.)
She walks very slowly. (The adverb very tells you how slowly.)

Her flight arrives today. (This adverb tells you when the flight arrives.)
Her flight will arrive in an hour. (This adverbial phrase also tells you when her flight arrives.)
Let’s go indoors. (This adverb tells where.)
